About Tender Nook Home Care
At Tender Nook Home Care, we believe receiving support at home should never mean giving up independence, dignity or familiar routines.
We provide dependable, personalized home care to individuals and families across Ottawa, helping seniors and individuals living with disabilities, chronic conditions, dementia, memory-related conditions and ALS remain safe and comfortable in the place they know best, home.
Our approach begins by understanding the person, not simply the care task. We take the time to understand each client's routines, preferences and support needs so that care feels personal, respectful and consistent.
We understand that inviting someone into your home is a big decision. That’s why we focus on:
-
consistency and reliability
-
respectful, dignified care
-
matching support to each client’s lifestyle and preferences
-
clear communication with families

Why We Started Tender Nook
When a close family member became seriously ill, providing care at home became increasingly overwhelming for those closest to them. Being unable to provide the hands-on help I wanted to give, I saw firsthand the physical and emotional toll that caregiving can place on an entire family.
Something from that experience stayed with me, the person receiving care was managing significant health challenges while also trying not to become a burden to the people they loved. Without enough support, everyone was carrying more than they should have had to carry.
That experience shaped the idea behind Tender Nook Home Care. Families should not have to choose between caring for someone they love and protecting their own health and well-being. And individuals who need support should be able to receive it with dignity, without feeling that their care is placing an overwhelming burden on their family.
Tender Nook was created to provide the dependable, compassionate support I wished my own family had, care that supports the individual while giving families reassurance, consistency and the space to simply be family.
